So, some clown named “demonspawn” leaves a hot-headed comment on some obscure web-site that few people care about, and it gets called “cultural misogyny”. Is it actual woman-hatred, or was it just an outburst – caused by lack of sleep - some life crisis – too much coffee that morning - or just some dickweed?
I would argue effectively, that such spewing does not represent mainstream public opinion. Thus, anybody claiming that such remarks (from somebody calling themselves “demonspawn” no less) represent a misogynistic culture is what I would call a complete fool...
Now, let’s look at establishment, policy and popular mainstream opinion for a moment.
Case 1 - A six year old boy is charged with sexual harassment for kissing a girl on the hand. Yes, a six year old boy was sexualized by an establishment and charged with a crime by said establishment. This was not the hot-headed typings of somebody calling themselves “demonspawn” on some obsolete website. The establishment was forced to react the way that it did because of policy.
Case 2 - A woman was recently raped in my neighborhood at gunpoint (it happened about 200 yards from my house in fact – a vacant field I have walked my dogs in). Yes, rape happens. The response - police sketches of the man are posted everywhere, and neighbors (including myself) signed a card for the alleged victim (yes, I said alleged, because anybody accused of a crime is INNOCENT until proven GUILTY). So, the establishment is trying to bring this person to justice. None of my neighbors mumbled, “she was asking for it”. There is a reward for his capture. The public is cooperating with police. This is one isolated incident committed by some sick person, and the establishment reacts (as it should) to do justice immediately. That’s rape culture for ya! I do not care what some internet dickweed on a “men’s rights” site or blog has to say about the incident. Nor do I care what some internet dickweed has to say about rape culture.
Case 3 - Catherine Kieu Becker drugs, tortures and sexually mutilates her husband. An all female panel and an all female audience being broadcast on a major T.V. network cheer, laugh and applaud the act. This is what is called mainstream opinion. Not one single woman walked out in disgust. Again, this is not some clown on an obscure website that nobody gives two shits about (like me and this blog LOL). This is mainstream television – the fact that all the women joined in the merriment over such a sadistic act demonstrates public opinion – and I re-iterate – this was not on some obscure blog or web-site – this was broadcast on national T.V. on a major network - CBS. Of course, in fairness, I have to say that Catherine Kieu Becker has gotten a life sentence with possibility of parole in seven years – so the establishment has reacted to the crime – but look at what popular mainstream opinion was – women cheering and applauding.
I’m not going to call items 1 and 3 misandry – because misandry is not a word.
I am not going to take the typical MRA stance on item 2 and say, “she was asking for it”, “what a bunch of white knights”. A crime was committed, and a proper investigation and trial should ensue.
Instead of making misandry a word, I think that the words misogynist and misogyny should be removed from the English language.
After all, who is it that likes to tout and beat everybody over the head with them so ineptly?
Yes, I have used “misandry” before, and I have “mimicked” feminist tactics too (as many sites in the man-o-sphere do - unwittingly). I am not the brightest bulb in the chandelier – and yes, I am pissed off at how many women treat men poorly these days – and the fact that our society accepts said behavior (the flip side of the coin is NOT ACCEPTED BY OUR SOCIETY – as item 2 demonstrates).
Thanks to Eivind Berge and NOTANMRA I realized that much of what you find in the man-o-sphere is just re-enactments of feminism – sex negativity, excessive use and abuse of words that mean hatred of the complimentary sex, bloated statistics, race-hatred, factoids, obsession with pedophilia, etc...
In order to defeat the hatred, we cannot simply mimic it from the male side.
I won't be slamming any doors in any women's faces any time soon...
All this hatred and negativity towards sex relations has to stop. I'll be brainstorming more over the holidays on how to accomplish that.
Have a happy new year - and remember - one battle cry of the feminists of old was something akin to "stop sucking and start biting" - referring to male genital mutilation - a negative attitude towards sex, and a general hatred of men.
